At the IAA in 1951, Volkswagen presented a luxury version of the T1 Transporter that, even today, remains one of the greatest icons of automotive engineering world-wide: a special edition of the minibus with eight roof windows - unofficially called the Samba Bus. With its large folding roof, the all-rounder quickly became a favoured shuttle vehicle for top hotels and airports.
